It’s easy to know when your Champagne® mango is ripe – just look at the color! As the fruit matures, it turns from green to a deep, golden yellow.
If your mango is green in color and hard as a rock when you apply gentle pressure, it is a sign it is not ready yet.
Allow firm fruit to ripen at room temperature, never in the fridge.
Champagne® mangos turn a deep golden yellow when fully ripe.
Mangos are usually very sweet and fully ripe when their skin starts to show signs of shriveling.
To speed up ripening, place the mango in a sealed paper bag with another mango or an ethylene-producing fruit (e.g. avocados, tomatoes) at room temperature. This will allow the fruit to ripen faster, naturally!
Champagne® Mangos are available at grocers all across the country. Remember, if it doesn’t have a purple Ciruli Brothers label it’s not a Champagne® Mango!
